Agnes Beam comic by Glenn Csonka

My very good friend Glenn Csonka (creator of Animal Force) is working on this old yet unfulfilled idea. Glenn and I have known each other since middle school. We were study hall cartoon buddies. Glenn taught me a lot of stuff in those early days and it was fun to have somebody to draw with.
My 5th published comic, “The Undead Hotdog Incident” had Glenn’s first “Animal Force” as a backup/flip comic.
Glenn has been wanting to do a steampunk Phineus story. While discussing what he could do, I suggested doing a prequel to Phineus using his great great grandmother , Agnes Beam. I’ve been wanting do do this for a while, but Glenn beat me to it!
It’ll be set in turn of the century Pittsburgh. Glenn is doing a lot of research of Pittsburgh history and folklore.
This makes three stories being written and drawn by others in my world. I am one lucky bastard!
Noeland Collins’ “Werewolf Conundrum“
Jon Towers’ “The Mother of All Monsters“
My good buddy Glenn Csonka, has been toiling away at building a fantastic steampunk Pittsburgh for his upcoming Phineus Prequel, “Agnes Beam: Witchunter”. Glenn has really nailed a Disney Animated-esque style for the two main characters, Phineus’ great, great Grand-parents Phineus J. & Agnes Beam. I’m really digging this stuff!!
Concept art from Glenn Csonka’s “Agnes Beam”
by Phinmagic on May 8, 2012 at 12:00 amFrom Glenn Csonka’s Facebook page:
“Working on some concept art for Barry Linck. This is Phineus Beam‘s great, great-grandmother, Agnes. Playing with 1895 fashion (“leg o’ mutton” sleeves) and lot’s of purples and mauve.”
Glenn spent the long weekend finalizing the look of the two leads for “Agnes Beam”.
Glenn is approaching the process in a very animated style and process. he’s even been creating head shot style sheets, using some Disney sheets as guides.
He’s also been dealving deeply into Pittsburgh history from the 1880′s. The two characters shown are Phin’s great, great grandparent’s Phineus & Agnes Beam. She’s a techno-mage and he’s a tinkerer. It’s a stem-punk retro paranormal adventure, with magic, tech, Andrew Carnegie as an arch-mage and more!
It’s going to be a lot of fun!

Phineus’ great great grandfather, Horatio Beam, master of mystic arts! A design by Glenn Csonka for the upcoming Agnes Beam comic!
